How can we improve Base API's?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  1. Export contacts addresses for mailers

    We send out postcards and mailers quarterly. We update returned addresses, but we have to re-export the entire list and modify it in an excel sheet before each mailing.

    Can BASE find an easier method for us to just print out mailing labels directly from the source!??

  2. I'd love it if document filenames could be returned on Deals.

    I don't actually need the content of the attached documents, or even technically any metadata about the document.
    However to have at least the filenames listed out per-deal would be fantastic and would allow me to do some pretty valuable things.

    Background:
    We have strict naming schemes on quotes and invoices. Picture YYYY_MM_DD_customername_shortproductname.
    And we also prefix customer/partner PO's with po_ and date.

    The only guarantee with process and workflow is that it won't always be followed. This can lead to customers falling through various cracks.
    I've written code that does a ton of cross checks between our live systems…

  3. Leads Created Via API Trigger Notifications

    Currently (as discussed) a lead created via API just comes into being silently and you need to create a note or something along with it to trigger a notification. There should be a flag in the API allowing you to trigger a notification

  9. Differentiating Loss & Unqualified reasons on the different funnels.

    Do we have the posibility to differentiate de Loss and unqualified reasons per pipeline? So we can have different reasons depending on the pipeline we are on, as some of the reasons are specific to the pipeline.

  12. Allow additional custom tabs beyond All contacts, Prospects, Customers.... To allow for (e.g.) Suppliers, Advisers, Intermediaries, etc

    In our business development and operational projects of all sorts intertwine with sales. For example, Completing a sale might involve developing or adapting a product or service, or cooperating with regulators of all kinds, or embarking on a piece of research. This involves individuals who don't git the three standard categories.

  13. Let us share smart lists with others in our organization

    I have created a series of smart lists that are useful and specific to our needs. Instead of sending detailed instructions to each person as to how they need to make these smart lists on their own, it would be AMAZING if we could have the option to share smart lists with others.

  14. Having home owner and property information when creating new leads

    Working in the solar business the geolocation tracking is incredibly helpful. In my line of work knowing the homeowner by name makes things go much smoother. I would love a feature or integration where whenever a new lead is created with just the address, home owner and property information is pulled from the town assessors database, similar to Datagrid From Sales Rabbit, hate to mention the competition here.

  15. Directly Open BASE Mobile App from web links in Phone

    When I click a link from base in my phone (within an email, text, chat message, etc.), it opens the default mobile browser and asks me to login (everytime!). An infinitely better experience would be if the links open the BASE mobile app directly. LinkedIn web links do this and it makes life much better for all :)

  16. Manage Multiple Teams/Different Automated Actions-Sales Goals for Field vs. Inside

    In reality, I oversee both the inside sales team and the field sales team. I want to be able to set sales goals and automated actions for them.

    I currently can do this, however, it's for BOTH teams. There is no way for me to distinguish between the two.

    Even if I branch them out differently (currently it's my boss -> me -> split branches, one is inside sales, one is field sales), they're still all part of my team, and thus they're unified under the automated actions and sales goals I set up for them.

  17. Lead Capture Form Templates

    I would like ability to publish the Lead Capture form with multiple templates (formats).

    This relates to the layout (for web), but also for other devices (iPad, Iphone, Android, etc).

    Having the ability to preview each would be an adjunct feature to this as well

  19. Select records in SmartLists, also multiselect

    Radio buttons for individual and all contacts or leads in a SmartList need to be enabled as they are in the complete Lead and Contacts lists. The entire reason for a Smartlist can be to take action on the entire list (i.e. templated email to an entire SmartList.

  20. Lead Sources Should ALWAYS Transfer Over to a Contact and/or a Deal

    According to your knowledge base:

    "Keep in mind that Lead Sources do not transfer over when your convert Lead to a Contact. They will however transfer over to the Deal if you choose to create a Deal during the conversion process. If you do not create a Deal when the Lead is converted then the Lead source will not be transferred at all."

    SUGGESTION: Lead sources should ALWAYS transfer over to a contact and/or a deal. They should also transfer from a contact to a deal whenever a deal is added later.
