Multiple personal email addresses
In my industry (film & TV) people often both have company and personal email addresses they use since employment often is very temporary. I'd like to be able to register more than one email address so if I forward an email into Base, it recognize more than one address.
I’m happy to let you know that you can add your contacts’ additional email addresses as custom fields, and email to and from those addresses, including forwarding.
Thanks for your feedback, and for contributing to make Base better still!
All the best,
My biggest gripe is Base associating an email address with all deals current and past. Why would I want to store an email on current deal #5 with previous deals #1 to #4? That's a lot of admin work to deal with. Why can't the email be linked to just the deal it is involved in. What, people buying it don't have repeat business?

It doesn't seem to be able to search by this email!
The ability to enter multiple email addresses for a contact is very important. Please add this as quickly as possible.

Hello Rafal, it only works for contact NOT for leads. Please fix this quickly as for the leads you can only add custom fields like skype, website etc. but not additional e-mail adresses. We also experience this a lot with leads writing from different accounts landing in the untracked e-mails section.
+1. Agree completely.
Please fix this ASAP
Could not agree more - especially with SMS functionality not available for all phone numbers. In addition to clients using multiple email addresses and the need to sync them, it's needed to track SMS via email from a second service. Bumping again.
How do I add a second email address so that Base pulls both emails from my gmail?
This is the most important function for us, almost all clients use more than one email. After one month of testing this lack of functionality was the most important decision to stop use of this great (other function) product.
Please let us know if you are considering the implementation of this functionality. Solution with custom fields is not an option for us.
This is crucial for us also - probably a deal breaker for us, we've got many contacts with three or four different businesses and emails
I agree, one email associated per contact is very stone age. I'ts like not being able to add multiple contacts for a company.
Sometimes my contacts have 2 addresses being I'm real estate they may have their home and their investment property please allow for 2 addresses
I agree - this needs to be bumped up - we need the additional email addresses to be linked and sync the emails from the other email address into the system for tracking purposes.

Unfortunately the implementation is just partial. Although you can add multiple e-mail addresses IMAP sync won't notice those: it will only use the primary e-mail. This means that if a contact uses multiple addresses for correspondence then only one can be used to track the e-mail conversations.

+1 - it's important for me to be able to have more than one email address associated with a client, and that all addresses are used when linking emails to contacts.

My testing suggests that this is only partially functional:
- The system allows you to send an email to an address in the custom fields.
- However, the system does not appear to link emails (Google Apps Integration) based on these addresses.
- Even worse, merging accounts with two email addresses causes you to lose the email history attached to the second email (the one that ends up in the custom fields). Indeed you get no warning which email address will be kept (???).
Automatically tracking emails is the #1 reason why I encourage clients and business contacts to look at BaseCRM. Multiple emails is also important as emails are sometimes sent by assistants or from personal email addresses. The existing implementation is not compatible with email linking and should be restored to an active queue until it is a complete solution.

Glad to hear! Does this also mean that e-mails sent or received regarding the contact (through an IMAP mailbox) will be correctly attached to a contact with all of its addresses?
I can't actually believe that I can only add one email address. More then half of my contacts have 2 or more emails addresses. Furthermore, after the initial import, most of the email addresses are the private ones, not the professional ones that actually matter.
This is a deal-breaker. Please give us an estimate when this will be implemented.
- Possibly add the option to mark one address as the 'primary' one for the sync feature. All others will simply display / update with google contacts.

Our company uses more than one Base database. We've had to create email aliases for each database since Base won't allow the same email for more than one database. It would be helpful to log into base and have each Base instance for which I am a user pop up and allow me to choose which one to use.
